S.E.P's

Translators, Family Stories, Student Goals, Benchmark tests, Differentiating, Long hours after school. Welcome to SEP’s.

Tillie modeled how she conducts her conversations with students and parents, then the rest were mine. The surprising thing is I loved every minute of it. It was fascinating to sit down and get to know my students and their families on a more intimate level, as well as praise each child for the work they have done, and set goals for what they can accomplish.

The most amazing aspect about this experience was hearing the stories about my students and their families. Everyone has a story, and this just happened to be the time that they were shared.

One story that gave me great insight into one of my students is *Adam. *Adam’s mother lived in Bosnia but had to move because of the war. From there she and her husband traveled to Croatia, then Hungary, Germany, Texas, and now Utah. It was fascinating to sit down and hear about her journey to the U.S. Hearing this gave me great insight as to how I can further encourage and support him in the classroom.

Despite the long hours, SEP’s was a rewarding experience that I grew from. All of my students came accept for one. I was so pleased that all of the families were willing to come, learn, and share.
